Pets are given up for a number of reasons: financial concerns, illness, moving to a home that doesn't welcome pets, allergies, pet behavior issues, and unwanted litters, just to name a few

Phoenix Paws & Claws offers many resources to help keep animals in loving homes. PP&CAR also urges pet owners to consider other options before deciding to surrender their animal.

Fortunately, there are more alternatives than ever to relinquishing your pet. However, PP&CAR understands that there are times when keeping a pet is just not possible.



Phoenix Paws & Claws Owner Surrender Policies:



• All animals must be spayed or neutered before being surrendered over to Phoenix Paws & Claws.
• All animals must be current on any and all vaccinations including Rabies. 
• All animals must be in good health.
• If no foster is available at the time the owner agree's to act as the foster parent until a foster is found. *Some exceptions do apply depending on the situation* 
• The animal must not have any bite history.
• The owner must inform PP&CAR of any behavioral issues or any medical needs. 
• Owner must fill out an owner surrender form..
• PP&CAR has the right to refuse any owner surrender.
